How It Works
A clear six-step process separates medical decision-making from coordination work, and shows how Medical Care and Health Check Journey move differently.
Hangzhou Health Journey coordinates information, planning, language support, appointments, logistics, and return-home materials. Final medical decisions are made only by licensed hospitals and physicians.
Six-step flow
Each step below includes what both pathways share, then how Medical Care and Health Check Journey differ.
1
Initial inquiry window
Choose the right pathway and share only the information needed to understand your situation, timing, language needs, and travel constraints.
Patients describe diagnosis, symptoms, prior treatment, current condition, urgency signals, travel ability, and what kind of specialist review they are seeking.
Travellers share travel dates, stay length, age range, health priorities, companion needs, dietary needs, and preferred Hangzhou pace.
2
Before any clinical review
Documents are collected with consent and minimum necessary access. Sensitive medical files should not be treated like ordinary marketing attachments.
Key files may include discharge summaries, lab results, imaging reports, DICOM files, pathology, medication lists, and operation notes if available.
Useful materials may include recent checkup reports, chronic condition notes, medication lists, allergies, family history, and travel health concerns.
3
Depends on document completeness and provider availability
Qualified medical review determines whether the next step is appropriate. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, imaging, treatment, or appointment availability.
The review focuses on clinical suitability, missing records, urgency, travel safety, and whether specialist coordination can reasonably proceed.
The review helps decide what checkup items are clinically appropriate. CT, MRI, or specialist visits are considered only when medically indicated.
4
After review signals and practical availability are clearer
The plan separates coordination service items, medical provider fee categories, travel and stay costs, and items still marked [TO BE VERIFIED].
The plan may include possible specialist appointment coordination, required additional records, medical fee categories, and travel readiness notes.
The plan may include a 4, 6, or 8 day journey structure, health check scope, report explanation, optional culture time, and itemised quote request.
5
Scheduled around confirmed appointments and traveller readiness
Hangzhou support may include appointment coordination, interpretation, local transport planning, accommodation preferences, and companion-friendly logistics.
For accepted cases, coordination follows the confirmed medical provider plan. Clinical decisions remain with licensed hospitals and physicians.
For checkup travellers, the schedule balances testing, rest, report explanation, and optional low-intensity Hangzhou experiences.
6
Before departure and after returning home where available
The goal is to leave travellers with portable materials they can understand and share with local physicians after returning home.
Handover may include collected reports, translated summaries where available, medication or follow-up notes from qualified providers, and follow-up reminders.
Handover may include an English action report, checkup results, practical next steps, and recommendations to continue care locally where needed.
Timeline notes
The most useful timeline is honest: it explains dependencies without pretending medical review is instant or guaranteed.
Timing depends on document completeness, clinical complexity, provider availability, translation needs, travel dates, and whether additional records are requested.
No fixed approval time, appointment time, treatment time, or diagnostic completion time should be promised before review and written confirmation.
Urgent symptoms should be handled through the local emergency system, not through a cross-border travel coordination timeline.
Pathway readiness
The first decision is choosing the right doorway, including knowing when routine travel coordination is not appropriate.
Use Medical Care if there is an existing diagnosis, specialist concern, prior treatment, or clear medical question.
Use Health Check Journey if the traveller is already planning China travel and wants a responsible checkup with clinically indicated diagnostics.
Use neither routine pathway for emergency symptoms, unstable conditions, continuous ICU needs, infectious disease control issues, or cases where a physician says travel is unsafe.
